The Danish brain research prize is awarded to six leading scientists. One of them is Professor Peter Hegemann, (UniCat Research Fields D4 and E4). The awardees are honoured for the development of 'optogenetics', a revolutionary technique that advances our understanding of the brain and its disorders. New paper in "Science" on simultaneous femtosecond X-ray spectroscopy and diffraction of photosystem II
In the latest Issue of Science, Prof. Athina Zouni and colleagues from Berkeley, Menlo Park, Umea, Stockholm, and Grenoble report on simultaneous femtosecond X-ray Spectroscopy and diffraction of photosystem II at room temperature. The 2013 LOUIS-JEANTET PRIZE FOR MEDICINE is awarded jointly to the German biochemists Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel, and to the geneticist, Michael Stratton. 2013 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize for Peter Hegemann
The winners of Germany's most prestigious research prize have been officially announced. At its meeting in Bonn today, the Joint Committee of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) named eleven researchers, two women and nine men, as the winners of the 2013 Leibniz Prize.
