Peter Leadlay, Herchel Smith Professor of Biochemistry, comes to UniCat for a research stay on May 02. Last year, he had been chosen by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to receive a prestigious Humboldt Prize.
He had been nominated for the Humboldt Research Award by Professor Roderich Süssmuth at the Technische Universität Berlin. Now, Professor Leadlay will again spend three months at UniCat on collaborative research projects.
On Wednesday, May 30, he will give a talk within the UniCat colloquium on "Sustainable chemistry: assembly-line biocatalysis as a route to new pharmaceuticals".
The Humboldt Research Award is given to internationally renowned scientists and scholars whose fundamental discoveries, new theories or insights have had a significant impact on their discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future.
