Award of a Humboldt Prize to Peter Leadlay from University of Cambridge, UK
Peter Leadlay, Herchel Smith Professor of Biochemistry, has been chosen by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to receive a prestigious Humboldt Prize.
Professor Leadlay was nominated for the Humboldt Research Award by Professor Roderich Süssmuth at the Technische Universität Berlin, where he will spend part of his sabbatical leave in 2011 on collaborative research projects. The award is valued at 60,000 €.
The prize is awarded to internationally renowned scientists and scholars whose fundamental discoveries, new theories or insights have had a significant impact on their discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future.
