DexLeChem wins the Next Economy Award 2015

Yesterday, the UniCat spin-off DexLeChem has won one out of four Next Economy Awards of the Foundation German Sustainability Award.

During the competition DexLeChem was chosen out of 175 applicants as the winner in the category "resources" for its ambitious and promising business model. DexLeChem convinced the jury with representatives from industry, venture capital and NGO with its green high-tech approaches in chemical and biotechnological process optimization and development which lead to significant cost advantages in the production. The jury considered DexLeChem as a real pioneer in this field and enabler of the "Chemiewende" i.e. the transition of the chemical industry based on finite fossil fuels towards a circular economy.

The Next Economy Award 2015 was hosted by the Foundation German Sustainability Award (Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. )in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Economics, the Council of Sustainable Development, and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK). The award competition aims at demonstrating that sustainable behavior does not only solve social and ecological problems, but can also enhance profitability and competitiveness.
