VIP paper in Angewandte Chemie of Prof. Dau and Prof. Driess highlighted in ChemCatChem
Dr. Mathias Wiechen and Prof. Dr. Leone Spiccia, Australian Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science, Monash University Melbourne, have highlighted a very important paper of Matthias Driess and Holger Dau.
"Research such as that presented in the highlighted article represents an excellent starting point for the rational design of highly active water oxidation catalysts based on non-toxic and abundant elements," Wiechen and Spiccia wrote.
These materials are crucial for the construction of high efficiency photo-electrochemical cells that utilize solar energy to drive water splitting.
Driess and Dau had reported the formation of highly active water oxidation catalysts through the partial corrosion of nanostructured MnIIO particles.
