The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim (MPI CEC) awarded Dr. Kallol Ray the Ernst-Haage Prize from the Ernst-Haage Foundation on 7 December 2012. Ursula Bonnen, the founder, was present at the Award Ceremony.
Dr. Kallol Ray received the prize in the field of bioinorganic chemistry. Kallol Ray is a UniCat junior group leader at the Humboldt-Universität in Prof. Christian Limberg. There, together with his group, he is developing new catalysts that will be of interest to the pharmaceutical industry, among others.
The prize in this category is awarded to outstanding young scientists that are seeking an academic career path in the sciences. Furthermore, a Ernst-Haage Prize is also awarded to a PhD candidate and to an apprentice. The Prize has been given since 2006 and carries a cash award of €7,500, €2,500 and €500 respectively.
